MAE Access Technologies

Verizon provides several choices of access technologies at its exchange points in the U.S. and Europe. MAE Services Interworking provides the flexibility of any-to-any connectivity among these technologies.


MAE LAN Service
Verizon MAE® LAN services provide internet exchange capability based on 10 or 100 Mbps Ethernet technology.

Verizon MAE® GigE services provide internet exchange capability based on Gigabit Ethernet technology. The connection identifier at a GigE endpoint is the VLAN ID.

Verizon MAE® FE services provide internet exchange capability based on FE (Frame Relay Encapsulation) technology. The connection identifier at an FE endpoint is the DLCI.
